Born
in 1960.
Agility Judge
since 1994 (FCI International Judge since 1997).
I took up Agility
in 1990. Until 1992 I competed with Tina, our Golden Retriever
Tina bitch. We won up to Level 2 (Level 3 had not been introduced
at that point). Tina's competitive career was brought to an early
end by health problems.
In 1996 I returned to competition with Daska, my
Flat Coated Retriever bitch. We managed to win up to Level 3
together. Daska is now 10 years old and enjoying her retirement.
Since autumn 2003 I have been working Massai, my
wife's Tervueren bitch, in Level 3.
From 1990 onwards, Agility has been the only canine sport I have
been involved with. In 1992 we founded the Liechtenstein Agility
Team, and I was its president until 1999. I have played an active
role as trainer in our various classes ever since the club was
founded. In addition to my activities as Agility judge, trainer
and competitor, I have also been the president of the organising
committee and show manager for our annual Agility show for all but
3 years.
I am looking forward to judging
at the 2006 FCI World Championships, as it is a dream come true
for me. It will be a particular challenge for me to design,
construct and judge courses suitable for the best handlers and
dogs from all the participating countries. I am looking forward to
meeting Agility competitors from all over the world.
