Useful information and handy hints for travelling
with your dog in Switzerland.
Public Buildings
Dogs are usually allowed to enter public buildings in Switzerland.
Dogs can also be taken into shops (though not into shops selling
groceries, into drugstores and pharmacies, or into any shops that
display signs forbidding dogs).
Restaurants and Hotels
Dogs may be taken into restaurants. Generally speaking, it is not
difficult to find a hotel that will take dogs. However, do make
sure you check with the hotel first whether they take dogs, and
how many. Also remember to ask if there is an additional charge
for each dog.

Pick Up After Your Dog
Switzerland is well known to be an extremely clean country, and
dogs have a very good reputation! Please help us keep it this way.
You will see green ‘Robidog’ bins all over the place. They contain
free poop bags which you can use to pick up after your dog. We
will make sure that there are always plenty of poop bags available
at the venue. Tip: you can be fined if you don’t pick up after
your dog in Basle.

Here are instructions on how to use the robidog poop bags:
