Travelling to the Venue by Public Transport
It is easy to reach the St. Jakobhallen by tram.
Tram no. 14 goes from Pratteln, Muttenz and Basle straight to the
stop at St. Jakob. From the tram stop it is just 2 minutes’ walk
to the venue. The journey times are about 10-15 minutes from Basle,
about 7 minutes from Muttenz and about 15 minutes from Pratteln.
On weekdays, there is a tram roughly every 8 minutes, and at
weekends roughly every quarter hour.
If you book a hotel room in Basle via the Basle
Tourist Information Office, you will get a pass for one day’s free
use of the area’s public transport for each night that you stay.
Otherwise, the price of a one-way journey within the city of Basle
is 2.80 Swiss Francs, or 1.80 Swiss Francs if the journey is a
maximum of 4 tram stops. The price remains the same even if you
change trams, as long as the journey continues in the same
direction. Children between 6 and 16 years old travel half price.
Children under the age of 6 travel free of charge when accompanied
by an adult.
In Switzerland, dogs are allowed on all public
transport. Dogs measuring below 35 cm at the withers travel
free of charge if they are transported in a bag or basket during
the journey. All larger dogs travel half price.
